Counselling
At WBTC we have 2 counsellors who each have a caseload, provide individual and group counselling, and facilitate group activities and programming.
Our counsellors work extensively with youth while they are with us.
Each client participates in a minimum of 2 hours of personal counselling per week, as well as group therapy activities.
Our counsellors provide Trauma Informed Care in the following areas:
- Anger management
- Grief and loss
- Emotional discovery
- Mental health wellness
- Family dynamics
- Overall person-centered healing
- Forgiveness

Elder in Residence
Clients have access to a caring person who has knowledge of Indigenous histories, teachings, and ceremonies and is available to spend time with them individually to help them heal and grow.

Clients participate in personal counselling and treatment planning where clients set goals that they want to achieve during their time with us and counsellors work with clients to help them achieve those goals. Clients also participate in group counselling and therapy activities.

Education
In addition to supporting clients who are enrolled in mainstream education, our teach provides a curriculum to clients that includes ELA and Reading, Math, Science, Spelling and Grammar, Indigenous History and Studies, Traditional Medicines, and Western vs Indigenous Worldviews.

Equine Assisted Therapy
Clients regularly attend Equine Assisted Learning where horses are included in specially designed learning exercises to teach clients several skills including appropriate assertiveness, building healthy relationships, confidence & self-esteem, goal setting, leadership & team building, negotiation, respect & trust, responsibility, and self-control.

Transition Home
Located on the Muskoday First Nation, our transition home provides a safe space where treatment program graduates can continue to receive support in a caring, drug and alcohol-free home as they grow toward adulthood while maintaining their sobriety.
